Process Capability & SPC

Objectives

To provide participants with the understanding of the statistical tools required to develop an effective SPC system. As well as covering the basic tools of SPC i.e. control charts and process capability, the training includes strategies for identifying and quantifying the component sources of variability in a process as a means of identifying weak areas and hence improving process capability. At the end of the training participants would hopefully understand both how SPC is carried out and why it is such a valuable tool in quality development.

To cover all of these topics requires a three day training course, a two day course may be appropriate if some of the above topics are not required.

Style

The training will comprise formal training sessions with practical pencil & paper and computing workshops using your SPC software package. The emphasis of these workshops will be on the interpretation of the statistical summaries and actions that might be taken in light of the results. Workshops can either being built using data from our own library of examples or can be specially customised using your data and your processes (which means you may get some expert consultancy on your processes at the same time!)
